One of the main reasons I decided to pay Garmin an obscene amount of money for a fancy bell was because I had read that the new Garmin models could sync during an activity.
I took that to mean that I would be able to sync COURSES to my Garmin during an activity - this being something I often want to do when we are touring.
My brain exploded today when I finally tried to do this only to see that the Sync Now menu was unavailable because there was an Activity in Progress.
I’m really really hoping someone here can tell me that it is possible to sync courses during an activity. This is such an obvious useful function, I don’t want to hear that it is still not possible. Please…
@GPLama ?
I’ve now found my own post on discord that asked this question and answered myself with a link to DCR’s article from 2023 that explained how to sync courses during an activity!
So WTF can’t I do this now on my much newer 1050 and why does google AI tell me it’s not possible?? ![]()
OMFG.
Now that we’re home and I’m just testing dummy routes that I don’t need, it works just fine. ![]()
Today was really not the day I needed technology to mess with me. I actually wanted the new course I made when we stopped on our way home. Obviously it doesn’t work if you actually care about it.
My testing at home also became annoying because I discovered I can pin an activity in RWGPS and it doesn’t appear in the ROUTES list - even though it shows in the Pinned category and it’s labelled as a route in that pinned list - it won’t appear in Garmin Connect unless I open it in the planner and save it as a route again. That wasted 10 minutes and another month of my emotional capacity.
