My wife, who is 5β0β with short legs, is looking for a short-travel full suspension mountain bike. At our first bike shop visit she ran into trouble with standover height, which is not negotiable. I know top tube shape can make a difference in functional clearance vs. spec clearance, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for bikes that work well for short people. From the numbers, we may have to go down to a 26β wheel.
Thanks!
Tried so far:
Specialized Chisel XS(29), 756
Norco Fluid FS 27.5, 640
Look interesting:
Liv Faith(26/27.5), 676
Trailcraft Maxwell 26, 675
Cannondale Habit 26, 675
Juliana Joplin XS(29), 680
Note: I had never heard of Trailcraft, but the mechanic at our LBS said that heβd been impressed by the ones that had come through.
