Counterweight Workstand - where did I see it?

I saw somewhere - and I’m sure it was Insta - a shop that had created a counterweighted workstand, such that lifting and lowering a bike was easily managed by the weight on the other side.

I seem to recall it was a frame made from what I would guess was extruded aluminium, with a chain moving the weight, and I think (well, hope) that it could be locked in place.

I’m curious as it’s the kind of thing I’d like to replicate - that is if the cost, time & effort of making one doesn’t get negated by being too close to just picking up a Park PRS-30 (or to stump up a bit extra for a Remco).

I’m also contemplating a ceiling-mounted stand solution and this approach would be better suited to that.

They are worth a follow for their higher end commuting and daily use bikes as well as glimpses of the amazing work stand.

THANK YOU!

I can’t find the actual video clip of it working, but I can see a few pics on the page that help understand the principle.

For those watching curiously, this post has a few pics where you can see the workstand:

EVT also makes an assisted repair stand. That page has a link to their youtube video demo.

As gorgeous as that is, it’s roughly 3x the price of the Park PRS-30
