I have a handlsing a1roevo that uses IS52 internal routing. I need to change bars due to damaged carbon and am exploring options. Internal routing seems to overcomplicate this. I could just buy from handsling, but I’m in the US and exchange rate, tariffs and shipping really push up the costs for that.

From what I can tell, the headset cap design is a determining factor in which stem/integrated bars I can use. Also, any given headset cap is designed to mate to a specific upper bearing and used with a specific steer tube collar/wedge. Am I correct so far?

So, does that mean I can just go buy, for example, a wolftooth enve in-route headset, install it, and then have the proprietary-but-ubiquitous in-route ecosystem available? Or is it not that simple?

@Dave_Rome please consider writing a headset explainer. Please. Pretty please. With stroopwaffel on top.
