Assos bibs

I thought I’d ask Assos directly:

bumping this thread back up. I bought a pair of Assos T.neoPro S7 maybe 7 years ago and I absolutely love them. I need to replace them and have tried an entry level Rapha (hated them and they fell apart in about 9 months), newer high end Assos and I didn’t care for the fit the legs were super tight, the straps dug in and the waist was very low. Does anyone know a pair of bibs that mirror the fit of my old neoPro?

I’ve had a bunch of pairs of Assos bibs, going on 10-12 years now? The thing for me is they last a really, really, really long time, in the end making them a bargain item compared to other bibs that have not lasted as long. Realistically they last forever, the construction is that good, it’s just they end up eventually losing their color and you eventually decide to get rid of them, maybe 6-8 years later? But the stitching and quality of materials seems to last forever. I’ve even crashed wearing some of them and they didn’t rip, which was kind of amazing.

Trying them at a dealer is a great way to go if you’re lucky, I have a dealer within 10 miles and it’s super helpful and they also sometimes have sales. I would agree with the idea of trying the cheaper Equipe ones first. They have often seemed just as good as the expensive ones, and I’ve sometimes gotten the Equipe bibs for as little as $130. The main difference with the really expensive ones often seems to just be where they are manufactured, if you spend enough you get a pair actually made in Switzerland instead of Eastern Europe. One of the expensive pairs I have has perforations in the chamois, I’m not sure they actually do much though.

I have not seen a huge difference in sizing from Equipe to Mille in bibs. There is a huge difference in their jerseys between the lines.
