After receiving my, what seems like daily, marketing email from Silca I’m a little bemused how they can keep claiming that their Ultimate sealant (which I use) seals 6mm punctures. I’m not saying it’s a bad product, just don’t know how they (and other companies) can continue to claim this when in my experience with a few different sealants is that they work, but only with puncture cuts of around 2-3mm, with anything more requiring a plug. Does anyone out there have experience with a sealant that is genuinely good with larger cuts, and if so does that have any effect on any other part of the user experience (eg, it clogs valves)?

Most other sealants only have particles. The Silca stuff has fibers too - as does Magic Milk, who claim to be able to seal an 8mm cut, for what it’s worth.
Also bear in mind that we’re talking a 6mm cut, not a 6mm round hole.
